3 Ingredient Easy Pork Marinade

Posted in Uncategorized by

These past few weeks we’ve been taking advantage of the warm weather and we’ve spending a lot of time outdoors. It’s been great, but it also means I’m making dinner on the fly many nights of the week. Grilling is great, not only because it’s quick, but because my husband usually does it and I’m a off the hook for dinner prep! 😉

Last week there was a sale on pork chops so I took advantage of it and bought a pack. I knew I wanted them grilled but I also wanted to add some flavor ahead of time so they were juicy and maybe a bit sweet.. As I’ve said before, all of those prepackaged seasoning packets you can buy are full of sodium and preservatives, so we try to stay away from them and make our own marinades. I happened to have some orange juice on hand and wanted to try it out in place of vinegar in a marinade. I grabbed some honey for sweetness and some salt and pepper for added flavor and mixed it all up. The results were delicious! And my 3 ingredient easy pork marinade took me about 3 minutes, using ingredients I already had on hand. (I bet it would work on chicken too!) Nothing beats an easy and delicious dinner.

3 Ingredient Easy Port Marinade

Ingredients (for marinade)

1/3 cup of orange juice

1/4 cup honey

1-2 tablespoons olive oil

salt and pepper to taste, if desired

 How to

1.Put pork shops in a shallow baking dish or Ziploc bag.

2. Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper.

3. Mix all wet ingredients together in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the pork.

4. Refrigerate pork for at least 30 minutes (longer is definitely ok!).

5. When you’re ready to cook the pork, get rid of the extra marinade. Grill or broil pork for 5-6 minutes per side or until they’ve reached 160 degrees internally.

Serve with your choice of side dishes!

So easy, and it looks great! Thanks for the grilling tips. We’ve always done pork in the oven, and it gets dried out. Maybe we’ll have better luck with the grill.

My husband is the griller here but he says low and slow on the grill is best if you have think pork chops!

This sounds SO good. Wow. I love a good marinade…it really can make all the difference!…and orange juice + honey seems like it’d be the perfect citrusy flavor with a great consistency! Trying this on the next grill day!

Erica I totally agree–the marinade really does make a difference. I think the honey is what really clings to the pork here and keeps it flavorful!
