I absolutely loved this book. The first few chapters were a tiny bit slow, but once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down.
This is the story of child named Claude who was born a boy but feels like he’s a girl. His family –mom’s a doctor, dad is an aspiring writer and 4 brothers– is supportive and do the best they can to help him navigate life as he tries to live as a girl. There are some obstacles in his way and ultimately everyone in the family learns a lot through Claude’s journey to be who he/she really is.
Regardless of how you feel about transgender kids/adults, this book is not to be missed. It asks some really tough questions about being transgender and it doesn’t oversimplify the issue with a perfect little happy ending. This book is beautifully written, has great characters, and really makes you think.
