I can’t believe summer is almost over. While I love fall, I’m not quite ready to let go of these warm, carefree summer days. Jon is home and we’ve been having so much fun just hanging around.
Fall is going to bring some big changes around here, too, which is another reason I’m not yet ready for it. I found out yesterday that I’m definitely going to be teaching again this fall and I’m really excited about. I teach developmental English at a community college not far from here and I love it. I took off last year because I had Nicholas and I was really hoping to go back this fall…and now I am. I know there will be an adjustment period for all of us as we get used to Mommy working again, but I’m ready for the challenge!
But, that’s not it. In July we found out — with no warning — that Gia’s beloved preschool closed down. For good. Forever. To say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. I loved her school so much, and so did she. It was a tiny little mom and pop preschool with just 3 classrooms and acres of beautiful property, complete with 3 playgrounds for the kids. Gia was so happy there and I never once worried when I dropped her off there. I knew she was in good hands. I had such a special place in my heart for that school and her teachers.
After we got the call I spent a lot of time touring every preschool in the area and decided to send her to our local Goddard, which we’re both very excited about. Surely it’ll be a big change for Gia, but I know she’ll love it.
So, as we prepare for the new school year I wanted to tell you about a product that I just discovered and that I totally LOVE. Two words. Mabel’s Labels.
When Gia went to her old preschool the entire school had 45 kids. The teachers and the directors knew every single kid by name and I never worried about Gia losing things. If she forgot something at school it was always there the next day waiting for her. But now that she’s going somewhere much bigger, we’ve been told we have to label every.single.thing. So rather than taking a sharpie to everything we own, I ordered adorable personalized labels from Mabel’s Labels
Mabel’s Labels has a huge selection of labels in so many shapes, colors and sizes. They’re waterproof, very sticky and totally durable. There is no way these bad boys are going to come off once they’re on. And, the website is very easy to use and they ship super quickly. I highly recommend the Mabel’s Labels Ultimate Back-to-School Combo because for $42 you get
- 40 Skinny-Minis™ which are dishwasher and microwave safe so they’re perfect for lunchboxes and lunch gear
- 50 Tag Mates™ which are washer and dryer safe so they’re perfect for clothing
- 16 Shoe Labels which are waterproof and UV resistant
- 2 Teeny Tags — metal bag tags designed to attach to smaller items
And the best part is that Gia loves them! I know she’s a little nervous about starting her new school, so anything that gets her excited about back to school prep is worth the investment, in my opinion. She had so much fun sticking these pretties in her backpack, lunchbox and coat! Check out Mabel’s Labels and let me know what you think!
