Milestones: Nicholas’s 1st Haircut!

Posted in Uncategorized by

If you follow me on Instagram, you know the reason for the radio silence around here. We were away last week on the Bethenny Aruba trip and the week before that was Nicholas’s 1st Birthday party (more on both of those later in the week!).

But, now we’re back and I’m dying to catch up with blogging. So here we go with the first post {ahem, photo dump}  😉

Over the past 2 months Nicholas’s hair has gotten very thick and very long. Earlier in the summer my mom (who is a hair stylist, BTW) gave the top of his head a quick trim. There was this crazy thick piece up there that curled in a really odd way and it needed to go. By September it was clear that he was in need of his first haircut.  This was kind of mind-boggling to us because, for all the hair Gia now has, she did NOT have much at one year old. Nicholas though–he’s got quite the head of hair already.

So we took a family trip to the salon where my mom works and she styled him up!

We put a cape on Jon and then we sat Nicholas on Jon’s lap with his own baby cape.  Here they are, getting ready to start.

My mom sprayed his hair and he wasn’t too thrilled with that part, but he didn’t cry. Instead he tried to grab all her tools.

So we gave him a curler to keep him busy.

He sat for about 10 minutes and then we took a little break and walked around the salon for a few minutes to give Nicholas a change of scenery. Then my mom finished the job. And, voila! Here’s the finished product! He looks like such a big boy! (Can you spot me in the picture?)
