We have a crawler! After three agonizing weeks of watching Nicholas scoot around, go backwards, and get on all fours only to drop down to his belly, he finally figured out how to crawl!
On Tuesday morning I was out running errands when I got a text from Jon. “HE CRAWLED!!” it said. I immediately texted back “OMG! Take a video!” Jon wasn’t able to catch him in the act so as soon as I got home I tested him. I thought we’d have a maniac crawler on our hands pretty quickly, but it turns out Nicholas only moves when he wants something and can’t reach it. 🙂
Over the past few days Nicholas been perfecting his technique. He still doesn’t go very far unless he wants a toy or he wants to destroy something. He loves the family room because it’s full of things he can mess up. He pulls books, picture frames and DVDs off our bookshelf. He grabs magazines and shakes and them and rips the pages out. He takes all of Gia’s shoes out of her shoe bin and flings them around. I’ll catch him and say “no no no!” and he looks at me and laughs. It’s a good thing he’s so cute!
Nicholas is almost 9 months old, so I’ll have more on his development in that post later this week.
